RIVERDALE, N.Y.- The Fairfield University men's cross country team headed to New York City on Friday morning to compete in the 2025 IC4A Championship in historic Van Cortlandt Park, and the Stags finished 15th out of 22 competing squads in the event that featured a total of 225 runners. Fairfield finished in front of fellow MAAC schools Manhattan, Quinnipiac and St. Peter's on Friday.
Senior Ryan Lindley was the first Fairfield racer to break the tape in Van Cortlandt Park, as he covered the tough 8K course in a time of 25:34.8, which put him in scoring spot 58.
George Hohenleitner was the next Stag to cross the line in a time of 25:49.7, and he was followed by Harrison Caprara in a time of 26:00.9.
Kyle Haskell (26:35.0) and Bryce Robinson (26:41.6) completed the scoring five runners for head coach Jake Jayworth's team in the Bronx.
Also completing the race for the Fairfield men on Friday morning were Colin Shand (26:52,2), Colston Wisotzki (26:53.5), Chase Orciuch (26:55.5), Gabriel Montoya (26:59.6), Owen Fletcher (27:39.2), Nevan Kelly (28:13.2), Jack Putnam (28:39.1) and Charlie Tessier (28:50.1).
Northeastern's Patrick Cantlon took first place on Friday in a time of 24:23.5 to help pace the Huskies to the team win.
Up next,.the Stags' cross country teams will have their final competition before this year's MAAC Championship Meet that will take place on November 1, when Fairfield takes part in next Friday's CCSU Mini Meet at New Britain's Stanley Quarter Park.
