MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. – Harrison Caprara placed 14th overall to lead Fairfield University Men's Cross Country this Saturday at the Jasper Fall XC Invite. The Stags finished sixth of 12 teams at Blue Sky Sports Complex, which will also host the Metro Conference Championship on Oct. 31.
 
Caprara ran the 8K in 25:43.7 to secure 14th place. Five other Stags were also in the top half of a loaded 140 runner field. Chayan Ory Hurley and Bryce Robinson placed 40th and 41st, respectively, followed by Benjamin Brasfield in 46th place, James Vissichelli in 58th, and Owen Fletcher in 66th place.
 
Fairfield's 13 harriers in action of Saturday also included Colston Wisotzki, Chase Orciuch, Brendan Parsons, Daniel Norton, Colin Shand, Gabriel Montoya, and Charlie Tessier.
 
As a team, the Stags defeated six teams including Metro foes Manhattan, Sacred Heart, Marist, and Saint Peter's, as well as Seton Hall and UAlbany.
 
Army West Point won the event in a clean sweep with five Black Knights claiming the first five spots on the leaderboard. Ryan Rheam clipped teammate Adam Furman by less than a second to earn the individual crown with a time of 24:53.3.
 
Fairfield Cross Country is back in action on Friday, Oct. 2 at the Paul Short Run.
