FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University men's tennis team welcomes two student-athletes to the squad this season. The Stags are coming off a fourth place finish in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference last spring and return eight players from last season's roster.
"I'm very excited about the arrival of Tyler and Ethan. Both have a lot to offer on and off the court. I expect them to make an immediate impact in the lineup," added Head Coach Jeff Bricker.
Ethan Ammon transferred from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley in Edinburg, Texas. The junior compiled a 12-27 record during his two seasons in the Lone Star State. A native of Maraval, Trinidad, Ammon will major in Mechanical Engineering.
Tyler Shibles joins the Stags from Barnstable High in Centerville, Massachusetts. During his four years, he owned a perfect 25-0 record in singles team play at the No. 1 position. Shibles was a two-time All-Scholastic Player and State Champion.
The Stags will open their fall season at the Army Invitational beginning on September 16th.
