Box Score WEST HAVEN, Conn. — Six members of Fairfield University Men's Tennis made the short trip to the Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center at Yale this weekend for the ITA New England Regional Championship. The Stags totaled nine wins at the event – seven in singles play and two on the doubles courts.
In singles action,
Kostas Kollias headed the effort with two wins in the qualifying bracket. The All-MAAC performer defeated opponents from Binghamton and Siena to emerge from the qualifiers and into the main draw of 64. His run came to an end in that round with a 6-3, 6-2 setback to Krish Gupta of host Yale.

Calum Jessett, and
Domagoj Stabek each won their first qualifying outing but fell in their second qualifier. Jessett went on to cap his weekend with a consolation bracket win on Saturday over Colgate's Aidan Chung – 6-4, 6-4.
Two Stags reached the round of 32 in the doubles bracket. Kollias and Benaibbouche defeated a duo from Stonehill in the opening round before landing on the short side of an 8-3 count to Buffalo's Emiliano Jorquera and Faiz Naysam.
Stabek and
Diego Alcala bested BU's Andrew Andrea and Adrian Quiros Monterrey, 8-3, in the round of 64. Their tournament run came to an end in a round of 32 marathon, falling to Harvard's Valdemar Pape and Peter Benjamin Privara in a tiebreak, 9-8(2).

Alex Aguiar and
Diego Alcala will head to San Diego to represent Fairfield and the MAAC at the ITA Conference Masters Championships beginning Nov. 6.
