Stags Move into Second Place at MAAC Championship

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. – The Fairfield University men's golf team carded a 301 on Saturday, moving into second place with 18 holes to play at the 2016 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championship. Eric Austin paces Fairfield and sits in third place overall with a two-day score of 146 (+2).

Austin turned in a 74 (+2) on Saturday at Disney's Magnolia Golf Course to add to his even-par 72 on Friday. Austin is two strokes beyond Manhattan's Ryan Lynch and four strokes off the pace of 142 (-2) set by Nicholas Dilio of Saint Peter's.

Kevin Duncan also fired a 74 on Saturday, moving into the individual top-10 with a two-day total of 151 (+7). Kellen Jordan added a 76 while Thomas Urciuoli and Alex Ferrante each turned in a 77.

The Stags' 301 on Sunday was the fourth-best team round of the day. Fairfield is five strokes behind Manhattan's two-day 600 atop the team leaderboard. The top seven teams will enter today's final round separated by just 10 shots.

In addition to the live leaderboard, final round coverage of the 2016 MAAC Championship will be broadcast on ESPN3 beginning at 10 a.m.
