LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. – Led by a second-day 73 from Steve Burak, the Fairfield University men's golf team climbed into third place with 18 holes left to play at the 2015 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championship. Burak, the 2013 individual champion of the event, is two strokes back on the leaderboard at Disney's Magnolia Golf Course in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.
Fairfield shot a 304 today to stand with a 601 for the tournament through 36 holes. The Stags are three shots behind second-place Iona (296-302-598), with St. Peter's pulling out to a 17-stroke lead with a 581 (288-293).
Burak is in third place overall with a two-day score of 143 (70-73). The Peacocks own the first two spots on the leaderboard with Brian Grubbs carding a 141 (68-73) and Nicholas Dilio posting a 142 (74-68).
Also leading the Stags was Eric Austin, who shot a 78 today and stands in 12th place overall with a 150 (72-78). All five Fairfield golfers carded rounds in the 70s today, with Ricky Dowling shooting a 76, Alex Ferrante posting a 77 and Patrick Lynch registering a 78.
