DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Steve Burak carded a final-round 75 to place third and Eric Austin placed ninth following his second consecutive 77 to lead the Fairfield University men's golf team to a fifth-place finish at the Lonnie Barton Invitational. As a team, the Stags posted a 632 for the tournament – shaving 10 strokes from their first-day 321 to fire a 311 this morning. Patrick Lynch (77), Peter Repetto (83) and Ricky Dowling (82) all improved from round one to round two to help guide Fairfield into fifth place.
Individually, Alex Ferrante shot a second-round 81 for the Stags.
Led by Williams' 150, host LIU Brooklyn won the tournament by six strokes with a score of 612.
