2014-15: Played in nine tournaments, totaling 20 rounds…Shot a three-round 218 (72, 73, 73) at the Rutgers Invitational…Fired a final-round 64 to win the individual ECAC Championship as the Stags placed second…Carded a 69 in the final round at the MacDonald Cup…Shot a 72 at the Peacock Invitational to place sixth of 66 golfers…Placed fifth in a 32-golfer field with a 74 at the Monmouth Invitational…Carded back-to-back rounds in the 70s, including a final-round 71, to place 11th at the MAAC Championship.
2013-14: Team Captain … Played in 20 rounds over nine tournaments, averaging 78 strokes per 18 holes. He placed fourth overall at the ECAC Championship, finishing with a three-round scored of 156, which included a season-best 72 in the opening round. He placed fourth at the Seahawk Invitational, shooting a two-day score of 157. He finished 12th overall at the Metro Honda Peacock Invitational, shooting a 75. At the MAAC Championship, shot a 241 to place 21st overall.
2012-13: Dowling played 21 rounds over the course of eight tournament appearances and averaged 74 strokes per 18. He finished in the top-25 in every tournament he played, with four top-10 finishes on his resume. He shot a 72 at the Metro Honda Peacock Invitational to finish in a tie for first place. Dowling ended the year with a ninth-place finish at the MAAC Championship, shooting 221, including a one-under 71 to open the event. He finished fifth at the season opening event at Rutgers, shooting a season-best round of 69 in the second round, a score he matched in the opening round of the Mount St. Mary's Spring Invitational. All told, Dowling shot seven rounds of par or better on the year.
2011-12: Dowling appeared in seven tournaments during his rookie season, averaging 75.6 strokes over his 20 rounds. He was particularly impressive in the spring, shooting 78 or better in all 12 rounds. His best round of the year came in his debut tournament, shooting a -3, 69 in the final round at the Hartford Hawk Invitational. Dowling earned his first collegiate win with a 218 at the Mount St. Mary's Spring Invite. He carded two sub-par rounds in that event to lead Stags to a second place finish. Dowling finished fourth at his first MAAC Championship, repeating a season-best score of 218. He shot a -2, 70 in the final round, for his fourth sub-par found of the season.
High School: Dowling earned three varsity letters at St. Joseph's High School and served as team captain his senior season. Over the course of his career he was named All-State, All-FCIAC First-Team and to the Connecticut Post All-Star Team. Dowling also earned the FCIAC Coaches Player of the Year Award.
Personal: Son of Nancy and Richard Dowling, Jr. He has a younger sister, Marisa. Major is finance with a minor in economics. Member of the Finance Club and the Investment Club and is a Magis Scholar.
