FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University women's cross country team heads to Bethlehem, Pa. this Friday, Oct. 2 for the Paul Short Run. The Stags will run the 6K course at Lehigh University's Goodman Campus beginning at 1 p.m.
The Stags' race features a total of 44 teams, including Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference opponents Niagara and Siena.
In Fairfield's most recent outing, Sami Carey paced the Stag harriers with a 16th-place performance at Saturday's Fr. Victor F. Leeber, S.J. Invitational. Carey finished Fairfield's home 5K course in 20:44.32 to earn MAAC Runner of the Week laurels.
Carey was closely followed on Saturday by Allison Campbell in 19th place (20:52.06) and Jacqueline-Ann Willsey in 20th (20:55.99). lso crossing the line in the top half of the 63-runner field were Sarah Morrissette (21:18.94), Julia Wood (21:20.94), Katie Kern (21:29.08) and Kaylee Bergen (22:11.04).
Up next, the Stags will begin their Championship Season on Saturday, Oct. 10 at the NEICAAA Championship at Franklin Park in Boston.
