EDISON, N.J. – After leading the Fairfield men's and women's cross country teams in their respective events at Saturday's Fr. Victor F. Leeber, S.J. Invitational, Sam Daly and Sami Carey have swept the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference weekly awards as the MAAC Runners of the Week.

Daly posted a fifth-place time of 26:52.49 on the 8K course around the Fairfield University campus. He led the Stags' harriers to a deadlock for first place with Sacred Heart, though the Pioneers took the official team title via tiebreaker.

Daly was previous named the MAAC Runner of the Week on Sept. 10, 2014 following his showing at Van Cortlandt Park in the Fordham Fiasco.

In the women's 5K race, Carey finished with a time of 20:44.32 to place 16th. Her mark guided Fairfield to a third-place showing. The MAAC Runner of the Week Award marks the first career honor for Carey.

The Stags return to action on Friday, Oct. 2 in Bethlehem, Pa. at the Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh.
