NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- Freshman Brad Orban capped a strong run at the Connecticut State Championships by picking up a pair of wins to win the second round consolation singles competition.
He started the day with defeating Luke Roser of Quinnipiac by 6-2, 6-1 scores and followed up with a victory against Yale's Alex Hagermoser in the final, 6-1, 2-6, 10-6. The rookie won five of the six matches he played over the three-day event.
The seventh annual Connecticut State Championships featured teams from Connecticut, Hartford, Sacred Heart, Quinnipiac, Yale, and Fairfield.
