EDISON, N.J. – Kacper Krolikowski and
Diego Alcala have earned weekly honors from the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference after guiding Fairfield University Men's Tennis to a pair of league wins. Krolikowski went 4-0 and Alcala turned in a 2-0 mark in the Stags' 7-0 victories over Siena and Merrimack.
Krolikowski locked down the top flight for the Stags in singles and in doubles alongside
Kostas Kollias. Against Siena, he earned a 6-2, 7-5 win in singles and nailed down a 6-4 decision in doubles. Krolikowski and Kollias picked up another 6-4 win on the No. 1 Doubles court on Sunday at Merrimack, and Krolikowski capped his week with a 6-4, 6-2 triumph at No. 1 Singles.
Alcala cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 2 Singles in the Friday sweep of Siena. He added a marathon 7-5, 3-6, 1-0 (10-5) tiebreak victory on Sunday – also at No. 2 -- as a part of the 7-0 win at Merrimack.
Fairfield University Men's Tennis is currently in action against Sacred Heart. After today's contest, the Stags return to campus on the Walsh Athletic Center Outdoor Courts to host Marist on Friday, April 10 beginning at 2 p.m.
