FAIRFIELD, Conn.-The Fairfield University men's tennis team posted its fourth consecutive dual match victory and moved to 4-0 in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play with a 6-1 win on Wednesday over the Sacred Heart University Pioneers at Tennis Club of Trumbull.  The Stags are now 5-11 overall to go along with their 4-0 MAAC mark.  SHU is now 3-12 overall and 2-4 in conference action.

Fairfield got off to a strong start against the Pios winning the doubles point behind triumphs by Alex Aguiar and Calum Jessett at number two, 6-4, and Diego Alcala and Domagoj Stabek at number three, 6-3.   The duo of Kostas Kollias and Kacper Krolikowski led their match, 5-3 at number doubles, but it was left unfinished with the point decided.

In singles action, the Stags posted five victories, four of which coming in straight sets, to earn the match win.

Kacper Krolikowski won, 7-6, 7-5, in the top singles flight, and Diego Alcala followed suit at number two, 7-5, 6-3.

The squad's other straight-set wins came off the racquets of Calum Jessett at number five, 7-5, 6-2 and Alex Aguiar at number six, 6-4, 6-3.

Kostas Kollias posted the Stags' final singles victory in comeback fashion, as he won 6-7, 6-4, 1-0 (10-8) in the number three position.

After a busy stretch of action to open MAAC play, the Fairfield men will take a bit of break, as they will not return to the courts until Friday, April 10 when the Stags will host Marist at the Walsh Athletic Center Courts.  First serve is set for 2:00 p.m.
