BRONX, N.Y. - The Fairfield University men's cross country team had a solid outing at the Fordham Fiasco/Ed Joyce Memorial this morning at Van Cortlandt Park, placing fourth overall.
Senior
Howie Rosas placed 11th overall after stopping the clock in 26:40.18 in the men's five-mile. Junior
Connor Kelley was the next Stag across the line in 27:16.34 followed closely by senior
Brian Cleary in 27:17.34, freshman
Nolan Parsley in 27:23.60, and senior
John Lobo in 27:35.51. Rounding out the Stags top-seven were junior
Jake Ruskan in 27:39.70 and sophomore
Dan DeBlock in 27:39.97.
Freshman
Mike Flanagan finished in 27:51.83 and was followed by junior
Kyle Wegner in 29:20.67 and sophomore
Frank Segreto in 29:54.17.
Navy won the event with 21 points while Rider was the runner-up with 55 points and Fordham was third with 76 points. Fairfield was fourth with 104 points and was followed by Monmouth (167), Rutgers (176), Hartford (195), Fairleigh Dickinson (224), and Saint Peter's (280). Navy's Stephen Schroeder was the individual champion after completing the course in 25:55.51.
Fairfield has a week off before it returns to campus on September 21 when the Stags host the 37th Annual Fr. Victor F. Leeber, S.J. Invitational.
