Final Results
The Fairfield University men's golf team opened its spring campaign with a sixth place finish at the Lonnie Barton Invitational at The Club at Savannah Harbor in Savannah, Ga. The Stags shot 328-317 in the 36-hole event to finish at +69, 645.
Nick Taylor was the Stags top player at the event, finishing in a ninth-place tie, at +12, 156. He opened the tournament with a round of 80 on Monday and then carded a 76 on Tuesday to move up three spots. Joseph Macaluso was the Stags top scorer in the opening round, with a 77, which had him in a third-place tie. He shot an 83 over the second 18 and finished in 19th place with a 160, +16.
Joseph Patalano carded the Stags best round of the event on Tuesday, with a round of 74. He finished in 24th overall with a +18, 162. Peter Repetto rounded out the Stags effort with a 32nd place finish, shooting+23, 167.
High Point University won the overall event with a +29, 605, including a tournament-best 292 round on Tuesday. High Point's Sam Stewart shot -1, 143, to capture the individual title.
The Stags are back in action March 26-27 in Williamsburg, Va. at the C&F Bank Invitational at Kingsmill Resort.
