Final Results
The Fairfield University men's golf team shot a final round 299 to finish the 54-hole Hartford Hawk Invitational with a team score of 932. The Stags finished in 16th place at the event which was played at the par-72 Bulls Bridge Golf Course in South Kent, Conn.
Darkness caused the final holes of the second round to be played first Tuesday morning, before the teams turned their attention to the final 18 holes. Rookie Richard Dowling was in 75th place following 36 holes, having shot 82-80 for a 162. He would card the third-lowest score of the tournament, and the lowest score of the round on Tuesday, with a -3 round of 69. The effort moved him up 26 places to a 49th place tie with a final score of 231.
Scott Rainaud was the Stags top finisher, leading the team throughout the event, placing in a 24th place tie. He shot a 76 in the third round, after carding back-to-back rounds of 74 to open the event, and finished with a 224. Brendan Carr shot his best round of the event in the final 18, with a 76, to finish in 76th place with a three-day score of 242. Nick Taylor shot a 78 in the final round to finish at 235 and a 61st place tie.

Fairfield will be back in action this Saturday and Sunday at the ECAC Championship being played in Egg Harbor City, N.J. at Twisted Dunes Golf Course.
