Final Results
The Fairfield University men's golf team shot its best round, 304, in the final round of the Rutgers Men's Golf Invitational on Saturday, finishing in 12
th place with a 54-hole score of 932.
The two-day event was played at the Rutgers Golf Course and was won by USC-Upstate and its final score of 854.
The Stags had four players shoot their best score of the tournament on Saturday, led by a 73 from Scott Rainaud. He was the Stags top finisher, carding a 223 to finish in a 17th place tie. Joseph Macaluso carded an 80 in the final round to finish in 55th place with a 235. Nick Taylor carded a 76 on Saturday to move into 57th place with a 236.
A pair of rookies rounded out the Stags effort at the event, both carding the best round of their fledgling collegiate careers. Joseph Patalano shot a 75, to finish in 63rd place at 240, while Peter Repetto shot an 82, for a 71st place tie at 245.
