WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The Fairfield University men's golf team concluded play at the C&F Bank Invitational on the 6,659 yard Woods Golf Course this evening. The Stags finished tied for 18
th overall, improving their first round ranking by two.
Scott Rainaud continued to lead the Stags through day two finishing with a second round score of 75, to end the two-day event with a team best 151
. Nick Taylor also shot a 75 on the day to finish two strokes behind Rainaud with a 153.
Brendan Carr improved his first round score by an impressive 13 strokes to end the day with a team best 71. Carr shot a 155 total on the two rounds.
Joe Macaluso ended the weekend shooting a 161 total, while
Brendan O'Brien rounded out the scoring for the Stags with 164 on 36 holes.
As a team, the Stags shaved 11 strokes off their day one total ending the second round with a 303, for a two-day total of 617. James Madison University captured first place after shooting a 572 on the weekend.
The Fairfield University men's golf team will use the remainder of spring break as a training period in Cape Charles, Va. They return to action April 9 when they travel to Rhode Island to participate in the New England Division I Championships.
