BRONX, N.Y. -- The Fairfield University women's team placed sixth overall at the 2011 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championships at Van Cortlandt Park with junior
Sam Goodnow leading the Stags in the 6K.
Goodnow placed 19th overall with a time of 22:55.5 for a personal best in the 6K. Freshman
Maureen Crimmins was 23rd overall, clocking a time of 23:09.9. In her final MAAC Championship, senior
Kristen Golen notched a time of 23:38.6. Sophomore
Molly Leidig finished in 24:02.3 while senior
Lauren Londregan clocked a time of 24:03.9. Rounding out the top-seven Stags were freshman
Danielle Renzi, who finished in 24:22.3, and senior
Emily Davis, who registered a time of 24:32.0 in her final MAAC Championship.
Junior
Meghan Sullivan ran a time of 24:33.1 while freshman
Cate Forte recorded a time of 24:44.5. In their final MAAC Championship, senior
Caroline Riley ran a time of 24:46.4 while classmates
Nikki Livesey and
Kelly Kramer finished in 25:24.4 and 25:42.7, respectively. Sophomore
Danica Ceballos finished in 25:46.8 while sophomore
Hillary Maxson finished in 25:49.6.
The Iona women claimed their seventh straight conference title with 18 points with their own Hollie Rowland winning the women's 6k race with a course record of 20:44.7. Marist College placed second with 60 points followed by Loyola University with 79 and Canisius College with 143. The Stags took sixth with 146 points.
Fairfield returns to action on November 12 when they travel to Buffalo, N.Y. for NCAA Regionals.
