FAIRFIELD, Conn. - The men's golf team heads to University of Hartford this weekend. The men started their fall 2010 season at the Rutgers Invitational in Piscataway, N.J. The Stags finished seventh out of 17 competitiors at the 56-hole event. Rutgers Golf Course was a par 72, 6337-yard course.
Sophomore
Scott Rainauld (South Hadley, Mass.) led the Stags with a weekend total of 217 and an overall 8th seed. Senior
Sean Deale (Newton, Mass.) was one stroke behind Rainauld in the final round, finishing with a 72, and a three round total of 222. Deale also finsihed the weekend in the top 20, finishing 20th overall. Sophomore
Nick Taylor (Southbury, Conn.) junior
Joseph Macaluso (Clifton Park, N.Y.) and sophomore
Brendan O'Brien (Colts Neck, N.J) rounded out the Stags scoring as they all ended the final day on a round of 76. Taylor ended the tournament with a 227, while Macaluso finished with a 229, and O'Brien had a 241 total.
The Stags begin the Hartford Invitational Sunday September 26, and play through September 28. The other schools competing this weekend consist of UConn, Hofstra, St. John's, Holy Cross, Bryant, Rhode Island, Rutgers, Drexel, Temple, St. Joseph's, Loyola, Dartmouth, Sacred Heart, and Hartford.
