EDISON, N.J. – Fairfield University Men's Cross Country was selected ninth of 13 teams in the MAAC Preseason Coaches' Poll, which was announced on Thursday morning by the conference office.
The Stags finished eighth at the 2024 MAAC Championship, paced by
Ryan Lindley and
Gabriel Montoya. Fairfield welcomes back all 10 of its harriers to compete at last season's conference meet in addition to introducing four freshmen into the fold for 2025.
Iona was selected to continue its historic dominance of MAAC Men's Cross Country as the unanimous preseason favorite. The Gaels were followed by Siena, Rider, Merrimack, Marist, Canisius, Mount St. Mary's and Manhattan.
Fairfield was tabbed ahead of Sacred Heart, Quinnipiac, Niagara, and Saint Peter's.
The 2025 cross country season begins on Saturday, Aug. 30 at the Marist Season Opener. The 2025 MAAC Championship returns to Twin Ponds on the Farm in Montgomery, N.Y. on Saturday, Nov. 1.
