EDISON, N.J. – For the second time this season,
Victoria Mandma has been named the MAAC Player of the Week. Mandma earned victories at #1 Singles and #1 Doubles on Sunday as Fairfield University Women's Tennis defeated Siena, 6-1.
Mandma started the day on the doubles courts, where she teamed with
Maria Gell at #1 to knock off the Siena tandem of Andrea Vargas and Zaara Omar, 6-1. In singles action, Mandma again headed the top flight and picked up a 7-6 (5), 6-2 victory over the Saints' Laia Giralt.
On the season, Mandma is 12-11 in singles and 9-13 in doubles. She is unbeaten in conference play, winning both of her MAAC singles matches in the #1 spot in the lineup, while Sunday's win was her first result in league doubles action, as her doubles match in the win over Niagara remained unfinished after the Stags clinched the point.
