Women’s Soccer Announces 2024 Schedule

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University Women's Soccer program has announced their 2024 schedule, highlighted by 11 home matches and which starts on August 15 at Holy Cross. The Stags will also face three non-conference opponents who made the NCAA Tournament last season, including a home match against Princeton on September 18. The Stags have reached the MAAC Championship Final in two-straight seasons, a span in which they have won 24 matches overall while holding a 16-3-1 mark in the conference.

"I am very happy with the balance of games we have leading into MAAC play in early September," Head Coach David Barrett said. "As we always aim for, we feel we have a very strong slate of games against a variety of styles of play. The MAAC will pose its typical challenges, and I think we will be quite prepared to meet each and every one."

The Stags will open their 2024 schedule with a home match against Holy Cross on August 15, the first of 11 home matches on Lessing Field. Fairfield holds a winning record on their home pitch in each of the last five fall seasons, tallying a 34-8-5 mark on Lessing Field during that stretch.

Three of their six non-conference reached the NCAA Tournament last season starting with a road trip at Central Connecticut State on August 18 and then travel to College Station for Fairfield's first-ever trip to the state of Texas to face Texas A&M on August 24. Fairfield will close out their non-conference slate by hosting Princeton on September 18.

Fairfield will also host Bryant (Aug. 29) and Fordham (Sept. 1) before turning their attention to MAAC play against Rider on Sept. 7. The Stags will host: Rider (Sept. 7), Iona (Sept. 14), Saint Peter's (Oct. 2), Merrimack (Oct. 9), Mount St. Mary's (Oct. 12), Canisius (Oct. 26), and Quinnipiac (Oct. 30) during the MAAC slate.

The Stags will travel to: Niagara (Sept. 21), Siena (Sept. 28), Manhattan (Oct. 5), Sacred Heart (Oct. 16), and Marist (Oct. 23).

Fairfield has advanced to the MAAC Championship Finals in back-to-back seasons while holding a 16-3-1 conference mark during that span.

The Stags will be in the eighth season under Coach Barrett who has accumulated a 53-35-14 record during his time including a 32-17-6 MAAC record. His .588 winning percentage is the second-most in program history.

Fairfield will return all seven of their All-MAAC selections from last season while also bringing back 10 of their 11 goal scorers from 2023.
