OCEAN VIEW, N.J. – Colin Summers and Patrick McCarthy completed unbeaten weekends for Fairfield University Men's Golf, but Mount St. Mary's edged out the Stags, 3-2, in the final round of AC Match Play at Shore Gate Golf Club in Ocean View, N.J. Peter Crowe also kept the Stags in the hunt with a tie on his scorecard this afternoon.

Summers and McCarthy occupied the top two spots in the lineup for the Stags, who defeated Fordham and Siena on Saturday to reach the final. Summers won 2&2 and McCarthy picked up a 3&2 decision to complete their unbeaten weekends on the links. Crowe rallied to win the 18th hole and earn a tie in his matchup today against The Mount.
 
The Mount defeated Monmouth and Iona to reach the final before ultimately claiming victory in the Match Play event.
 
Fairfield returns to action on April 14-15 at Northampton Country Club in Easton, Pa. for the Abarta Coca-Cola Invitational. The tournament will be the Stags' final tune-up for the 2024 MAAC Championship.
