ELON, N.C.-Playing their second match in as many days during their Spring Break trip to North Carolina, the Fairfield University women's tennis team fell to the red-hot Phoenix of Elon University at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center, 7-0.  Elon has now picked up seven straight dual match wins to raise its season record to 8-4; while the visiting Stags are now 1-5 overall in 2024 dual matches.

The Phoenix earned Tuesday's doubles point posting wins at number 1 and 3, but the Stags' pairing of freshman Lily Malinowski and graduate student Francesca Karman grabbed a 6-4 win playing in the second flight.

In singles action, Elon won all six matches in straight sets.

After taking Wednesday off, the Fairfield women will wrap up competition on their Spring Break excursion to the Tar Heel State on Thursday afternoon against the Spartans of UNC Greensboro.  Action is schedule to begin at 3:00 p.m.
