FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Catalina Ness and Pilar Mengotti added another honor to their postseason resume with the two being included on the 2024 National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) All-Mideast Region team. Ness secured a spot on the first team while Mengotti collected a berth to the second team.

Ness comes off a successful 2024 campaign that included her being named to the All-Northeast Conference (NEC) first team as well as the NEC Tournament Most Valuable Player, leading the Stags to the conference title and an NCAA tournament berth. She finished the season with three goals and six assists for 12 points through her 21 appearances. She tallied at least one point in six games this year.

Mengotti was also an All-NEC performer in 2024, taking home a spot on the second team following her solid season in 2024. Her five game-winning goals tied her for the second most in a single season at Fairfield, sharing the honor with four other Stags. She appeared in all 21 matches during the season and finished third among her teammates with 15 points, registering five goals and five assists.

The Fairfield University field hockey team, under Head Coach Jackie Kane, advanced to the 2024 NEC Postseason Tournament, defeating Rider University and Wagner College to garner the title. The championship sent the Stags to the NCAA Tournament where they dropped a 2-1 overtime decision to the University of Delaware in a first-round game.
