FAIRFIELD, Conn. –
Kylie Corcoran, a junior on the Fairfield University field hockey team, received the CAA Offensive Player of the Week for her performance during the team's season opening week.
Corcoran appeared in both games played by the Stags, including an appearance against #9 Syracuse University in the season opener as well as a nod versus the College of the Holy Cross two days later.
It was the midfielder's performance against Holy Cross that caught everyone's attention as Corcoran had a hand in the first two goals of Fairfield's 4-0 win. She set up the team's first goal in the 21
st minute with a pass to
Konni Hofmann who converted the pass. Two minutes later, Corcoran posted her first goal of the season when she finished a penalty corner insertion to put the team in front 2-0.
Corcoran, who also started in the Syracuse match, currently places third in the CAA for scoring with her three points off the goal and assist. Last season, the midfielder posted two goals and an assist over her 22 appearances.
The Fairfield University field hockey team, under Head Coach
Laura Gebhart, finishes its three-game home stand on Sunday when the Stags host LIU at University Field. The match is slated for a 12 pm start.
