Box Score ROME, Ga. – Anna Neyestani earned one victory to advance to the Round of 16 at the ITA Conference Masters Championship on Thursday in Rome, Ga. Neyestani defeated Chloe Routier of Western Illinois before falling to Old Dominion's Sofia Johnson – the tournament's second overall seed.
In the Round of 32, Neyestani upended Routier – representing Western Illinois and the Ohio Valley Conference – by scores of 6-3, 6-1. She fell in the afternoon by a tally of 6-1, 6-1 as Johnson advanced to tomorrow's quarterfinal. The Old Dominion standout is the #37 ranked player in all of Division I tennis, an NCAA Singles All-American and the reigning Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year.
Neyestani qualified for the ITA Conference Masters Championship as the winner of the inaugural MAAC Masters Tournament last month in Hamden.
