FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The top-seeded Fairfield University Women's Soccer team will compete in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championship Semifinals when they host the fifth-seeded Manhattan Jaspers on Thursday night at 7pm. The Stags will be looking to advance to the MAAC Championship Match for the 13th time in program history and for the second-straight season.
Fairfield will bring a 16-2-1 overall record into the match, currently holding the fifth-best winning percentage in the country. Their 16 victories are also the third most in a single season in school history.
The Stags were dominant in their quarterfinal victory over crosstown rivals Sacred Heart, out-shooting the Pioneers 25-1. Despite the 25 shots, the Stags were only able to sneak one past the goal line as
Reagan Klarmann's right-footed shot beat the Sacred Heart goalkeeper in the 57th minute.

Fairfield's 25 shots raised their average to 21.3 attempts per game, the most in the country. Fairfield also leads the MAAC in: goals (47), assists (39), points (133), and shots on goal per game (9.3). The 47 goals are also the fifth-most in a single season in program history.
Manhattan will bring a 10-6-3 overall record into the match after claiming the fifth-seed in the tournament and an upset against Siena in the quarterfinals. Sami Derrico is the team's leading scorer with seven goals.
The winner of the match will advance to the MAAC Championship Game on Sunday at 1pm.
