FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University Women's Soccer team will welcome the Rutgers Scarlet Knights to Lessing Field for a Sunday afternoon kickoff with a 2pm start. Fairfield is coming off back-to-back comeback victories most recently putting up five goals against Boston University.
In the first three matches, the Stags lead the Metro with eight total goals and 22 total points.
Ella Pisani is the conference leader averaging 1.33 goals per game including back-to-back two goal contests. She is the first Stag since
Maddy Theriault in 2024 to have two-straight matches with a pair of goals.
Payton Zaun also rocketed in two long-range goals in the victory over the Terriers, her first two scores of the season. Freshman
Bella Bingham recorded a goal and an assist and is tied with her teammate
Brooke Kennedy for the most assists in the conference with two.
In their last two victories, the Stags had to fight back from three deficits, tying the game twice against UMass Lowell while finding the equalizer late in the first half against Boston University.
The home opening win boosts Fairfield's record on Lessing Field to 55-10-6 under Head Coach
David Barrett which features a 22-1-1 mark over the last three seasons.
Rutgers has posted a 0-1-1 mark in their first two matches which includes a loss to nationally-ranked Tennessee and a scoreless draw at UConn.
The Stags will complete their non-conference schedule with a pair of road matches, starting with a Thursday afternoon contest at Harvard at 4pm.
