Five Stags Named To All-NEC Field Hockey Teams

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Five Fairfield University field hockey student-athletes were placed on the 2024 All-Northeast Conference as the organization announced its annual postseason awards. Catalina Ness secured a spot on the All-NEC first team while Agustina Casteluchi, Pilar Mengotti, Madison Milhous, and Alex Senior earned berths to the All-NEC second team.

Ness is a member of the All-NEC team for the second straight season after earning a spot on the second team a year ago. This season, she has posted two goals and six assists through her 18 appearances. Ness scored at least one point in five games, highlighted by her five-point performance (two goals, one assist) against Merrimack.

Casteluchi also returns to the All-NEC team for the second straight season after holding a slot on last year's squad. The senior posted two goals and four assists for eight points in 2024 with both of her goals coming over the final three regular-season games. Five of her eight points came against non-conference opponents including a goal at Villanova.

Mengotti joins the postseason team after posting five goals and adding four assists for 14 points, ranking second on the team in scoring. Her five game-winning goals are tied for second highest total in a single season, sharing that honor with four other Stags. She appeared in all 18 games this season and averaged nearly two shots per game (33 shots taken).

Milhous makes her third appearance on the All-NEC team, also picking up a berth in 2022 and 2023. The senior scored her first career goals during the 2024 season, finding the back of the cage against Mercyhurst and Merrimack. She also added a pair of assists to her totals, giving her a career-best six points this year.

Senior collected her second consecutive All-NEC postseason accolade following another successful offensive season. The forward tallied five goals and three assists for 13 points with two of those goals representing game winners. Most of her scoring came in NEC play, tallying four goals and two assists for 10 points against conference foes.

The Fairfield University field hockey team, under Head Coach Jackie Kane, will play Rider University on Thursday, November 7 at 2 pm in the second semifinal of the NEC Championship, hosted by Wagner College.
