FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fresh off its 2025 NCAA Tournament appearance, the Fairfield University field hockey team have four dates on their upcoming spring schedule beginning this Saturday. The Stags will host Providence College for a scrimmage at University Field on the Fairfield campus. The game is scheduled for a 12 pm start.
The spring docket includes dates all within the State of Connecticut including a trip to Storrs for a date with UConn. The Stags and the Huskies will start at 1 pm on March 28. After a week off, Fairfield will play back-to-back competitions with multiple teams.
The first of those multi-team dates comes on April 11 when the team heads to Quinnipiac University to take on the Bobcats along with Sacred Heart University, and Yale University. The day begins at 11 am.
The final event on the spring schedule takes place on April 18 when the Stags will host Sacred Heart University and Long Island University. The day also begins at 11 am.
Last Fall, the Fairfield University field hockey team finished the 2025 season with a 16-6 overall record, captured the NEC championship, and advanced to the NCAA Tournament. The Stags won its opening round game with a 1-0 decision over Boston University before falling to national runner-up and second-seeded Princeton University by a 3-1 score.
Fairfield University Field Hockey will join the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) as an associate member beginning with the 2026 season. The Stags joins Drexel University, Hofstra University, Monmouth University, Northeastern University, Towson University, and the College of William & Mary to give the CAA seven members for the upcoming season.
