EDISON, N.J. – After recording a total of three wins for Fairfield University Men's Tennis at the Army Spring Kick-Off,
Sam Hodges has been named the MAAC Player of the Week. Hodges went 3-1 on the weekend.

Hodges' singles win at West Point came against the #8 ranked player in Division – Martins Amabu of Lubbock Christian – by a count of 4-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-7). He was also on the short-side of a match with Army's Daniel Zhou that went to a tiebreak – 6-3, 5-7, 0-1 (5-10).

In doubles action, Hodges teamed with
Alex Aguiar on Friday to knock off Army's Marcus Sebastian and Alan Ton, 6-4. The following day, he paired with
Luca Benaibbouche to pick up a 7-5 victory over the Colgate duo of Josh Israel and Benito Vlassis.

Fairfield Tennis returns to action this weekend for their first three dual matches of the season. The Stags visit Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center on Saturday, Jan. 27 to challenge Yale, then head to the city to play a doubleheader at #11 Columbia on Sunday, Jan. 28.
