Box Score 3 WEST POINT, N.Y. – Fairfield University Women's Tennis totaled eight wins on the weekend at the West Point Invitational. The Stags earned five victories on the singles courts, while the doubles team of
Francesca Karman and
Lily Malinowski won a trio of matches.
Meg Harding earned two singles wins, advancing to the Round of 16 in her flight, while
Ifigeneia Kafka,
Lucie Tuttle and
Lily Malinowski each won one singles match.
Karman and Malinowski defeated duos from NJIT, Binghamton and host Army West Point to reach the semifinals of Flight B. The pair was topped by Caroline Hinshaw and Maria Constantinou from UConn.
"That was a long, challenging weekend with the rain, but we saw some improvement and some areas more progress needs to be made," said Head Coach
Jeff Bricker. "We are looking forward to dry weather and working on some things before regionals."
The Stags are back in action at the ITA Northeast Regional Championship hosted by Harvard beginning Friday, Oct. 6.
