NEW HAVEN – Shane DeVincenzo had the best individual round of the tournament with a 65 on Sunday to lead Fairfield University Men's Golf to a share of fifth place at the MacDonald Cup. The graduate student, whose Sunday trip through the Course at Yale included a hole-in-one, finished tied for fifth on the individual leaderboard.

A hole-in-one on the par-3, 190-yard 13th hole highlighted a round that also included four birdies and just one bogey for DeVincenzo. His 65 (-5) pushed him into a tie with three other golfers for fifth place at +5 over the 54-hole event. DeVincenzo was six strokes back of Yale's Robert You, who earned medalist honors with a -1 weekend on his home course.

Colin Summers also turned in a top-20 finish for Fairfield, sharing 19th place in the 72-man field.
Anthony Naples,
Patrick McCarthy and
Chase Millar rounded out the scoring quintet for the Stags. Naples shot a 69 (-1) on Sunday to account for the only other round below par by a Stag.

Fairfield shared fifth place with Harvard, defeating a roster of teams including Bucknell, St. John's, Bryant, Le Moyne, Rhode Island and Fordham.

Tournament host Yale won the event by five strokes over second-place Seton Hall.

Fairfield Men's Golf continues the fall slate in three weeks at the SHU Fall Classic at Great River Golf Course in Milford from Oct. 15-17.
