FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University Women's Soccer team will embark on their first road trip of the year as they head to Smithfield, R.I., to face the Bryant Bulldogs on Thursday night at 7pm. This will be the fourth time in the last five seasons the two teams have met and will be Fairfield's first trip to Sutton Field since 2018.
Things to Know:
- Fairfield suffered their first loss of the season as they fell 3-0 to the Harvard Crimson last Friday night.
- The Stags attempted only three shots in the setback, their fewest in a match since Aug. 28 last season at Princeton
- Despite only taking three shots, the Stags still lead the MAAC with 15.3 attempts per game, a number that ranks 82nd in the country
- Fairfield has also committed just 4.3 fouls per game and is tied with Alcorn State for the fewest in the nation
- The Stags also lead the MAAC with 7.7 corner kicks per game, ranking 26th in the NCAA
- Fairfield is 3-3-1 all-time against the Bulldogs and 1-1-1 in their last three meetings
About Bryant
- Bryant also enters play with a 1-1-1 record with a win over URI and most recently a 2-1 loss against Holy Cross
- Makayla Griffin is the lone Bulldog to score as she netted the game-winner in the season opener against URI
