LAKE BUENA VISTA, FLA. – Leading the women's golf team in the second round, Sydney Nethercott improved by one stroke and one position on the leaderboard from her efforts Friday, carding a 74 to pace Fairfield University women's golf in the second round of the 2023 MAAC Championships.
Nethercott led the Stags on the day while for the tournament Julia Towne paces the Fairfield quintet, sitting at one-under par and just one shot back of the leader heading into tomorrow's final round. Behind a pair of top tens by her teammates, Grace Kryscio saw a three-stroke improvement on day two from Disney's Palm Course, moving up nine spots on the leaderboard to jump into a share of 14th place in the field.
Juliette Prud'Homme in a tie for 17th sits two back of Kryscio and one ahead of Addy Douglas who moved up eight spots and rounded out the Stags efforts Saturday with a five-shot improvement today which puts the Stags in third place as a team. Quinnipiac leads the field with a 15-stroke margin to second place Albany, who are just two shots ahead of Fairfield in third. Loyola and Dayton hold at fourth and fifth, while the Mount fall out of a share of fifth from yesterday, leaving LaSalle, Siena, and Niagara to round out the field.
