HASTINGS ON HUDSON, N.Y. – Competing in their second tournament in five days, Fairfield University women's golf was led by Julia Towne with a top-15 finish in the penultimate tournament of the regular season at the St. John's Spring Invitational.
Towne opened the tournament with a 77 in the opening round on the Par 71 layout at Saint Andrews Golf Course in New York, and followed that with a plus four, 75 to finish in a tie for 12th in the 66-player field. Moving up two spots on the leaderboard in the final round the Stags as a team place eighth of 11 with Seton Hall winning the tournament.
Finishing second for the Stags was Juliette Prud'Homme who carded a pair of 81's to finish in a share of 36th in the field, followed closely by Grace Kryscio who's opening round 78 helped her to 41st place, one shot ahead of Addy Douglas tied for 42nd. Katelynn Waclawski placed In a share of 51st to round out the team score with Annika Johnson taking to the course as an individual.
Fairfield women's golf has one final tournament ahead of the MAAC championships when they head to the U.S. Naval Academy Golf Course for the Navy Spring Invitational this weekend.
