GRASONVILLE, Md. – Fairfield University Women's Golf improved by 20 strokes in Sunday's final round to secure fourth place out of 12 teams at the 36-hole Women's Intercollegiate at Prospect Bay Country Club in Grasonville, Md.
Katelynn Waclawski led the Stags on the individual ledger, sharing fourth place in a 71-golfer field.
The Stags turned in a 321 on Saturday and followed up with a 301 on Sunday to lock up fourth place. Fairfield was just one stroke back of third place Sacred Heart, outpacing the Pioneers by 10 shots in the final round to close the gap. A pair of Ivy League squads topped the leaderboard with Penn besting Dartmouth by three shots for the tournament crown.
Waclawski was one of four golfers to post a 153 and share fourth place. That pack was two strokes behind Penn's Claire Lu for third place at 151. Julie Shin from Penn and Sophie Thai from Dartmouth shared the top of the ledger, each turning in a 149 over 36 holes this weekend. Shin was the official individual champion as a result of her birdie on Sunday's 18th hole, capping a tournament-best 70 for the day.
In addition to Waclawski, Fairfield was also piloted to fourth place by
Grace Windfelder, who nabbed a share of 12th place at 156.
Addie Chang was one stroke behind her in 17th, followed by
Ainhoa Jauregi in 28th place,
Sofia Nogalo in 30th, and
Chulathida Seema in 36th out of 71 total competitors.
The Stags return to action on April 6-7 for the St. John's Invitational. Fairfield will also host Siena for a head-to-head clash at H. Smith Richardson in Fairfield on April 13 before heading to Disney for the 2026 MAAC Championship on April 21-23.
