LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. – Fairfield University Women's Golf finished off a second-place team finish at the 2026 MAAC Championship with Thursday's final round at Disney's Magnolia Golf Course.
Grace Windfelder placed second on the individual leaderboard with a 213 – the lowest 54-hole score by a Stag at the MAAC Championship in program history.
The Stags, who finished all three rounds in second place, closed the gap with Quinnipiac with a 295 on Thursday to the Bobcats' 300. QU held off the Stags by three strokes to win their second consecutive MAAC Championship. The Bobcats recorded an 885 to Fairfield's 888. The Stags topped third-place UAlbany by four shots on the ledger.
Fairfield's second place team finish was the Stags' second in the last three seasons.
Windfelder fired her second consecutive 70 (-2) on Thursday. Her three-round tally of 213 (-3) was not only the best championship score in Fairfield history but ranked second in MAAC history, trailing only this year's champion – Sophia Fujita of Quinnipiac. Fujita turned in a 212 (-4) to claim the McLeod Trophy.
Three more Stags placed among the individual top 10.
Ainhoa Jauregi,
Addie Chang, and
Katelynn Waclawski each recorded a 225 (+9) to tie for eighth place and join Windfelder on the All-Championship Team.
Sofia Nogalo rounded out the Fairfield quintet in 28th place with a 237 (+21) for the week.
Including this week, the Stags conclude the 2025-26 campaign with six top-three teams finishes in 11 total tournaments played.
