LITTLESTOWN, Pa. – Chulathida Seema shared third place on the individual leaderboard to pace Fairfield University Women's Golf at the Charge at Quail Valley this week at Quail Valley Golf Course. The Stags finished third of nine teams at the 54-hole event.
Fairfield's third-place team finish slotted them ahead of Metro Conference foes Sacred Heart, Iona, and Mount St. Mary's as well as regional squads St. John's, UMES, and St. Bonaventure. Seton Hall won the event by two strokes over second-place Lehigh.
On the individual ledger, Seema rode an opening-round 71 (-1) to a tie for third place with a 223. She was six strokes off the individual pace set by tournament medalist Marta Aguilar of Seton Hall (217).
Ainhoa Jauregi tied for 11th in the 55-golfer field at 226, followed by
Grace Windfelder and
Sofia Nogalo, who also cracked the top 20 with shares of 16th and 20th place, respectively.
Addie Chang finished 25th to round out the scoring quintet, and
Sophia DeSantis placed 31st as an individual competitor.
Fairfield Women's Golf continues the fall slate next week at the Red Bandanna Invitational hosted by Boston College at Blue Hill Country Club in Canton, Mass. on Sept. 21-22.
