ORANGE PARK, Fla. — Addie Chang rose to second place on the individual leaderboard in Tuesday's final round, pacing Fairfield University Women's Golf to a third-place team finish at the Sacred Heart Spring Break Invite. A total of five Stags cracked the top 20 after 36 holes at Eagle Harbor Golf Club in Orange Park, Fla.
Chang carded a 76 on Tuesday and a 150 for the tournament, sharing second place with Manhattan's Jayden Peters. She was just one shot off the lead; Boston University's Wendy Li won the event with a 149 fueled by a tournament-best 72 on Monday and then hanging to her advantage with a 79 today.
Three Stags shared 11th place in the field of 39 finishers as
Katelynn Waclawski,
Grace Windfelder, and
Ainhoa Jauregi each turned in a 156 through two rounds.
Sofia Nogalo added a 157 to tie for 15th place, and
Chulathida Seema placed 21st with a 158.
Rounding out the nine Stags – the complete active women's golf roster – to hit the course this week,
Katie Patterson carded a 161,
Sophia DeSantis recorded a 168, and
Juliette Prud'Homme posted a 171.
Fairfield's third place finish had them just two strokes off the pace set by host and tournament champion Sacred Heart. Manhattan finished second, only one shot ahead of the Stags. The bottom half of the team field featured Boston University and MAAC foes Siena and Iona.
Fairfield Women's Golf returns to action on March 29-30 for the Women's Intercollegiate at Prospect Bay Country Club in Grasonville, Md.
