ORANGE PARK, Fla.-After one round of the Sacred Heart Spring Break Women's Golf Invitational being held at the Eagle Harbor Golf Club, the Fairfield University women's golf squad sits atop the team standings in the six-team event holding a three-shot lead over second place Boston University. Fairfield fired a team total of 300 (+12) over the opening 18 holes; while the Terriers posted a 303 team total. Manhattan sits in third place after round one, five shots behind the Stags. Host Sacred Heart is in fourth place six shots back, and Siena is 10 shots behind Fairfield in fifth.
Teams were originally scheduled to play two rounds today and finish the event with 18 holes on Tuesday, but inclement weather forced the cancellation on Monday's second set of 18 holes, so the event will be shortened to 36 total holes with the final 18 taking place on Tuesday.
Katelynn Waclawski and Addie Chang find themselves in a six-way, fourth place tie after round one in Florida to lead the Stags, as the duo both shot two-over par 74 on Monday to trail leader Wendy Li of BU by two strokes.
Grace Windfelder posted a top-10 finish in round one of the SHU Spring Break Women's Golf Invitational, as she went +3 (75) on the day to finish in a three-way tie for tenth place.
Chulathida Seema, who is tied for 15th place at five over par, Sofia Nogalo at six over par, tied for 17th place and Ainhoa Jauregi at seven over par, tied for 19th place completed the Fairfield top-five scorers in Monday's opening round.
Sophia DeSantis at +8, Katie Patterson at +9 and Juliette Prud'Homme at +11 completed the eight Stags in action in the Sunshine State.
