BRONX, N.Y. – Fairfield University Women's Cross Country finished out the fall 2023 campaign on Friday at the NCAA Division I Northeast Region Championship at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx. Mia Strazzella capped her standout freshman season as the Stags' top finisher in the 6K meet.
Strazzella posted her best 6K time of the fall on Friday, finishing the course in 22:32.0. She was the Stags' top finisher in all six meets this season, including the MAAC Championship two weeks ago.
Isabella Colabatistto was the next Stag to cross the line with a career-best 23:54.5, followed by a pack consisting of Catherine Lanahan (24:27.5), Emily Dalla Riva (24:27.5) and Claire Mason (24:31.7), all three of whom logged season-best 6K times. Megan Furlong (25:24.6) and Michaela Kenny (25:35.2) completed the roster of seven Stags to hit the venerable VCP course this morning.
Syracuse won the regional crown, outscoring second-place Boston College, 98-109. The individual title went to Maia Ramsden of Harvard, who broke the tape in 19:24.4 with a nearly 13-second buffer between herself and Providence's Kimberley May (19:37.3).
