EDISON, N.J. – Fairfield University Women's Soccer senior
Elle Scott was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Offensive Player of the Week after recording seven points including her first collegiate hat trick in Fairfield's 2-0 week. The honor is Scott's first weekly award this season as she becomes the sixth different Stag to earn a weekly honor this season.
"Saturday was certainly a breakout game for Elle," Head Coach
David Barrett said. "We are hoping she is finding good form at just the right time as we head down the stretch and into postseason play."
Scott's hat trick at Iona was the first of her career and the 15th in program history. She started her day by netting the first two tallies for the Stags and would complete her historic output with the final goal in the 66th minute.
She totaled seven points in the week, including dishing out an assist in Fairfield's first goal against Siena. She recorded 11 shots in the match, tying her for fourth most in a NCAA match this year.
For the season, she is tied for third in the MAAC with six goals while ranking fourth with 14 points. She has reached 20 goals in her career to combine with 54 points.
Scott and the Stags will close out the regular season portion of their 2023 campaign when they welcome Saint Peter's to Lessing Field on Wednesday night at 7pm.
