MILFORD, Conn. – Patrick McCarthy and
Colin Summers both finished among the individual top 10 to lead Fairfield University Men's Golf to a third-place performance at the SHU Fall Classic. McCarthy placed eighth and Summers tied for ninth on the individual ledger after 54 holes at Great River Golf Club in Milford.

McCarthy carded a +7 and Summers turned in a +8 for the tournament. Both Stags fired a 73 – McCarthy in the first round and Summers in the final round – to share the lowest round of the week for a Stag.

Anthony Naples tied for 21st place in the 54-man field with a +14 and
Shane DeVincenzo shared 24th place at +16.
Peter Crowe and
Zachary Maloy rounded out the Stags in action this week in 37th and 42nd place, respectively.

The Stags placed third as a team with a 902, topping fourth place Fordham by 22 strokes. The Stags also outplayed Sacred Heart's "B" team, Laval, Hofstra, and the MAAC trio of Canisius, Saint Peter's and Manhattan.

Host Sacred Heart won the event with a 865, five shots ahead of second-place Rhode Island.

Fairfield Men's Golf returns to action this weekend at the Lehigh Invitational.
