BETHLEHEM, PA. – Behind a pair of Top-10 finishes within the Stags' starting five, Fairfield University women's golf scored a sixth place finish out of 16 schools at the Lehigh Invitational Tuesday afternoon.
Senior Sydney Nethercott paced the Fairfield quintet after shooting two-over par in both rounds on the par 72 course at Saucon Valley Country Club, finishing the tournament at plus-four overall and tied for sixth in the 89-player field. Joining Nethercott amongst the top-10 was junior Addy Douglas who notched a 74 in the opening round on Monday and would go on to finish six over par, taking a share of ninth place in the process.
Third for the Stags was graduate Julia Towne who finished just one shot back of her second top-25 of the campaign at +10 for the tournament after carding a 77 in each of the two rounds. Grace Kryscio would finish fourth for Fairfield in a tie for 54th place, followed by Katelyn Waclawski two shots back and tied for 61st rounding out the final five for Head Coach Doug Holub this fall, with Lucy Fowler serving as the lone individual, placing 87th.
Fairfield women's golf concludes the fall 2022 campaign after competing in five tournaments and 12 total rounds of action. Within that comes 12 total top-25 finishes, highlighted by an individual victory by Nethercott three weeks ago at the SHU Fall Invitational, a weekend that also saw the Stags nab their first team win of the campaign, earning a share of the top spot alongside the host Pioneers.
