NEW BRITAIN, Conn. – Leading a group of six Stags to take to the course, senior Anna Weissenberg was the first to finish for Fairfield University women's cross country to lead the squad in their regular season finale at the CCSU Mini Meet hosted by Central Connecticut State University.
Weissenberg crossed the line in 11:25, placing 50th in the field while coming home 45th on the team score. Sophomore Emily Cochi came in second at 11:41 and 56th in the field (48th to the team). Senior Rebecca Drohen and freshman Haley Rieckelman finished back to back on the leaderboard with times of 12:03 and 12:16 respectively, followed by sophomore Caroline Burns two spots back with a time of 12:26, with senior Miranda Curto rounding out the Stags' scoring with a time of 12:38.
Fairfield women's cross country will head to Loundonville, N.Y. next weekend for the 2022 MAAC Championships hosted by Siena University at The Crossings of Colonie.
