NEW BRITAIN, Conn. - Senior Bryce Zapusek crossed the line in 57th place Friday afternoon, to pace the Fairfield University men's cross country team in its final competition of the regular season at the CCSU Mini Meet at Central Connecticut State University.
Zapusek crossed the line with a time of 16:15 in 61st place across the line, and 57th on the team score. Second out of Fairfield's six runners on the afternoon was senior Thomas Vanderslice who finished in 16 minutes and 56 seconds, placing 79th overall and 72nd for his team contribution. A trio of Stags followed in freshman Jack Putnam with a time of 17:03 and the Flores one-two of Pacifico Flores and Devin Flores crossing the line a second apart at 17:16 and 17:17, respectively. Senior Tim Burschinger rounded out the day for the squad in 89th and 80th on the team scoring with a time of 18:18.
Fairfield men's cross country will head to Loundonville, N.Y. next weekend for the 2022 MAAC Championships hosted by Siena University at The Crossings of Colonie.
