BRONX, N.Y. – Crossing the line with a 6k time of 22:51.2 Friday morning, senior Courtney Kitchen placed 81st out of 338 runners to lead Fairfield University women's cross country in the ECAC Meet at Van Cortlandt Park.
This weekend's field included five MAAC opponents that the Stags will square off with in two weeks at the MAAC Championships, and a total of 34 teams on the women's side. Kitchen's time of just under 23 minutes marks the third time in as many weeks that she has paced the Fairfield runners, while as a team the Stags finished with 773 points in 28th place.
Danielle Grosso was the second to cross the line, with a time of 23:38.7 in 158th place, followed by Anna Weissenberg with a time of 24:23.2 in 216th. Rounding out the top-five for the Stags was Catherine Lanahan in fourth with a time of 24:30.1 and Emily Dallariva with a time of 24:52.0 in 250th place.
Fairfield women's cross country is back in action next Friday Oct. 21 for the final regular season meet of the campaign when they head to New Britain, Conn. for the CCSU Mini Meet hosted by Central Connecticut State.
